Throughout the district parents were treated to ice scrapers from the LTEA. The teachers offered these gifts as a simple thank you to parents for supporting their students and the teachers. The ice scrapers were provided through a grant offered through the NJEA.

Get In the Game!
Please join MCEA in calling our fellow members to remind them of our support of public education friendly candidates who are running for office. If you accumulate 2 hours of volunteer time for MCEA election support during any of the times below, your name will be submitted in a drawing for a $25 American Express gift card (1 drawing opportunity per member)
- US Senator Cory Booker for re-election to the US Senate. He understands the difficult and challenging aspect in providing a great education for every child. He supports empowering teachers and students to share ideas for improving quality public education.
- Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman is running for Congress and has been a long time supporter of public education issues. She has been there for us and now we need to insure we continue to support her!

The Oktoberfest party (General Membership meeting) was very successful. Thanks to Jametta Holloway and Melissa Clark (and all of the impromptu helpers) for a great barbecue. There were a lot of questions but everyone walked away satisfied.

LTEA received a PRIDE grant to hand out stadium cushions at yesterday’s Homecoming football game – Cinnaminson @ Lawrence. Unfortunately, Lawrence didn’t fare so well but the students had plenty of fans. There was the Homecoming court presentation at halftime, great music by the Red Scare Band, which was all followed by the Homecoming dance that evening. We enjoyed seeing the parents and gave out 360 cushions.
